Empire Distributors Inc, A Leading Beverage Distributor is now hiring a Corporate Purchasing Director. SUMMARY
Manages Corporate Health and Welfare Benefit programs by evaluating, recommending and administering the various benefits programs. The Benefits Manager will work closely with the Human Resources team, Benefits Broker, and external vendors to ensure benefits are delivered efficiently and in line with company policies and federal/state regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
- Maintain accurate benefits records and employee data in HRIS systems, to include receiving and processing online benefit change requests to included New Hire, Life Events and Open Enrollment periods.
- Provide accurate bi-weekly calculations and reporting of STD payments to Payroll and HR Managers for payroll processing.
- Coordinates internal/external benefit audits.
- Provide regular reports and analytics on benefits participation, cost trends, and utilization.
- Prepares requested reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
- Provide compassionate guidance and resources to teammates navigating significant life changes such as medical emergencies, family caregiving, bereavement, and other unique situations. Ensure benefits options are clearly communicated and facilitate seamless access to support services during these critical times.
- Oversee Health and Welfare annual renewal process implementation. Create, review and coordinate communication materials (annual enrollment materials, HRIS, HR publications). With the assistance of Broker, evaluate vendors and assist in negotiating contracts and renewals.
- Reviews and obtains necessary documentation for qualified plans; IRS and ERISA mandated submissions and employee communications, including IRS Annual Return Forms 5500, 1094 and 1095, Summary Annual Reports (SARs) and Summary Plan Descriptions (SPDs).
- Reviews utilization, fees, claims and service of all H&W benefit plans.
- Completes analysis and costing to ensure benefits programs are competitive and cost effective.
- Partner with benefits providers to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Collaborate with Human Resources team members on broader people-related initiatives and projects as needed.
- Administers Wellness programs and communication.
- Serve as Committee Member for the 401k Plan.
- Other duties as assigned by the Corporate Director of Human Resources

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. A thorough knowledge of the industry and products desired.
COMPUTER SKILLS
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have moderate to advanced knowledge of HRIS systems and the ability to effectively work with the various Microsoft Office programs. Intermediate to Advance Excel Skills required. ADP/WorkforceNow HRIS experience preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
SPHR/PHR, SHRM-CP preferred.
