Yrefy is seeking a mission-aligned Controller to lead its accounting operations and drive sustainable growth across multiple corporate entities. The Controller will own the integrity, accuracy, and audit-readiness of all financial reporting and accounting operations. You will own the design, implementation, and operation of internal controls over financial reporting, in alignment with the CFO's broader risk and compliance framework

Key Responsibilities

• Build and mentor a high-performing accounting team
• Direct accounting operations including AR, AP, general ledger and ADP payroll coordination
• Validate transaction-level data feeding financial statements to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial reporting
• Track and account for debt obligations; support CFO in lender reporting
• Lead and continuously improve month-end financial statement close process
• Lead application of US GAAP, including revenue recognition, loan accounting, and financial instrument treatment
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and borrower and investor reporting regulations
• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Lead external audit process, including preparation of audit schedules, coordination with auditors, and resolution of audit findings
• Support regulatory inquiries through preparation of accurate financial data and documentation
• Support completion and optimization of Sage ERP implementation
• Collaborate with CFO and Tech Development to audit and unify financial dashboards and internal reporting
• Execute and maintain internal control environment and support risk assessment through accurate financial reporting
• Provide financial reporting, variance analysis, and operational insights to support CFO and executive decision-making and strategic planning
• Support technology system upgrades to improve financial efficiency and transparency

Qualifications

• MBA or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
• CPA preferred
• 10 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in financial services or lending industry
• Expert MS Excel reporting and analysis skills
• Sage accounting system experience
• Experience with loan servicing platforms and financial modeling a plus
• Experience with multi-entity accounting structures and intercompany transactions
• Strong understanding of compliance, risk management, and borrower and investor reporting
• An ability to collaborate effectively with executive manager and all team members.
• Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills
