This is a highly visible leadership role with direct exposure to executive leadership, the Board, and key business partners, offering the opportunity to influence financial strategy while modernizing systems and processes across the organization.

The company has built a strong reputation as a market leader within a critical transportation sector, supported by a long-standing commitment to safety, operational excellence, and long-term investment. With ongoing investments in technology, infrastructure, and business growth, this is an excellent opportunity for a finance leader who enjoys driving transformation, building high-performing teams, and serving as a strategic business partner in an asset-intensive environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead all corporate accounting operations, including general ledger, financial reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, payroll, treasury, lease accounting, and intercompany accounting
  • Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring timely and GAAP-compliant financial reporting
  • Prepare financial statements and executive reporting packages for senior leadership, lenders, shareholders, and the Board
  • Provide technical accounting guidance for complex transactions, including acquisitions, divestitures, leases, revenue recognition, and other significant business activities
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, long-range financial planning, and cash management initiatives in partnership with operational leadership
  • Oversee internal controls, accounting policies, external audits, lender examinations, tax compliance, and financial governance
  • Drive ERP enhancements, financial system optimization, process automation, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Develop and mentor the accounting team while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and operational excellence
Ideal Background
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA required
  • Master's degree in Accounting or Business Administration preferred
  • Progressive accounting leadership experience, including public accounting and corporate leadership
  • Strong expertise in GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, and internal controls
  • Experience leading audits, lender relationships, and complex compliance initiatives
  • ERP implementation or financial systems optimization experience is highly desirable
  • Background supporting acquisitions, complex transactions, or asset-intensive industries is a plus
  • Strong leadership, communication, and business partnership skills
Why This Role
This is an opportunity to step into a strategic leadership position where you'll help shape the financial direction of a growing organization. You'll partner closely with executive leadership, lead modernization initiatives across finance and accounting, and build a best-in-class accounting function while making a measurable impact on the company's long-term success.
