Key Responsibilities

Financial Leadership & Consolidation

  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across multiple entities
  • Prepare and oversee consolidated financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP
  • Manage intercompany accounting, eliminations, and reconciliations
  • Coordinate annual audits and related schedules
  • Deliver timely and accurate management reporting packages
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to executive leadership

Manufacturing & Cost Accounting

  • Oversee manufacturing accounting functions, including:
    • Inventory valuation
    • Standard costing
    • Bill of Materials (BOM) integrity
    • Labor and overhead absorption
    • Variance analysis
  • Partner with Operations and Supply Chain to improve inventory accuracy and efficiency
  • Analyze gross margins, production costs, scrap, labor efficiency, and KPIs
  • Support ERP enhancements and inventory process improvements

Accounting Operations

  • Direct all core accounting functions:
    • General Ledger
    • Accounts Receivable & Collections
    • Accounts Payable
    • Fixed Assets
    • Treasury & Cash Management
    • T&E reporting
    • Insurance
  • Maintain and strengthen accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Ensure timely reconciliations (bank and balance sheet)
  • Manage cash flow forecasting and reporting
  • Oversee insurance coordination and reporting

Banking, Compliance & Audit

  • Prepare and review borrowing base certificates (BBCs) and covenant reporting
  • Ensure compliance with lender requirements
  • Coordinate with auditors, tax advisors, banks, and regulatory agencies
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements, including:
    • Sales & use tax
    • Property tax
    • Business licenses
    • Regulatory filings
  • Support year-end tax schedules and documentation
  • Oversee employee credit card and T&E compliance

Systems & Process Improvement

  • Evaluate and enhance accounting workflows, controls, and reporting systems
  • Support ERP implementations, upgrades, and integrations
  • Develop and monitor financial and operational KPIs
  • Drive automation and continuous improvement initiatives

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff and leadership
  • Establish performance expectations and development plans
  • Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and training
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance finance culture

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • 15+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Minimum 5 years in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in consumer products, personal care, OTC, food, chemical, or similar industries preferred
  • Strong experience with:
    • Multi-entity consolidations
    • Manufacturing cost accounting
    • Inventory management & standard costing
    • BOM structures
    • ERP systems
    • External audits
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal controls
  • Advanced Excel and financial systems proficiency
  • Experience with lender reporting and banking compliance preferred
