Description Amazon Books Legal is hiring a strategic legal advisor for the Books content acquisition teams. In this role, you'll partner directly with the business to support relationships with the biggest traditional publishers across both ebook and print formats. That means negotiating, drafting, and interpreting the contractual terms that shape how publisher content reaches readers. Beyond transactional execution, you'll need high judgment and intellectual curiosity to dive deep into the nuances of our business models, services, and operations to find creative solutions and drive innovation in an established and growing business. Key job responsibilities - Serve as primary legal counsel for content acquisition teams - Provide legal guidance on product and program development, pricing, and regulatory compliance - Negotiate and draft content licensing and purchase agreements - Manage vendor disputes; coordinate with outside counsel and internal litigation teams on consumer litigation - Partner with cross-functional teams (PR, public policy) on go-to-market strategies - Advise on AI-powered features About the team We are a forward-thinking legal group committed to supporting Amazon's mission of customer-centric innovation. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
