This is a unique opportunity to support Amazon's store and operational businesses to build new and audit existing processes that raise the bar for Amazon's compliance with hazardous goods and environmental compliance requirements.In this role, you will counsel on regulatory and operational requirements, and impact the development and continual improvement of our state‑of‑the‑art technology tools used in our operational facilities and stores.Key Responsibilities Providing day‑to‑day advice to Amazon's Hazardous Goods and Environmental Compliance teams.Monitoring and advising compliance, business, and legal teams on upcoming regulatory changes and maintenance of existing compliance processes.Providing mission‑critical legal advice on the design of safety mechanisms and technology tools developed and used by compliance teams.Advising on internal processes and practices to support governance requirements and expectations.Serving as lead counsel in the response and resolution of applicable regulatory inquiries such as the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, U.S. Department of Transportation, California Air Resources Board, and Environment and Climate Change Canada.A Day in Your Life You will work at the intersection of law, technology, and operations, providing mission‑critical advice that directly impacts customer safety and environmental stewardship. Your day might include counseling teams on regulatory interpretations, reviewing new compliance‑technology features, or leading strategic discussions with regulators. You will make high‑judgment decisions independently while collaborating with passionate teams committed to raising the bar.About the Team You will work with a global legal team responsible for counseling Amazon on a broad range of environmental, sustainability, regulatory advocacy, health and safety, food safety, and trade issues across Amazon's diverse supply chains and stores. We work in a fast‑paced environment where your legal expertise directly enables business growth while protecting customers and the environment.Basic Qualifications 5+ years of legal experience.Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent.Preferred Qualifications Experience with a mix of corporate law firm, in‑house work, and government.Counseling on regulatory and compliance matters.Experience advising on hazardous goods, environmental, or product safety regulations.Experience with federal and state regulations governing supply chain, logistics, manufacturing, distribution, or consumer products.Track record of engaging with federal or state regulatory agencies.Experience designing compliance programs or technology solutions.Compensation and Benefits The base salary range for this position is USD 153,900.00 – 208,200.00 annually (USA, VA, Arlington; USA, WA, Seattle). Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs).
