Primary Responsibilities:
Provide financial planning, reporting, analysis and support to Corporate departments
- Act as financial advisor / partner and provide financial analysis and accounting support to department heads (Global IT, Global HR, Finance, Legal, Supply Management, etc.)
- Develop efficient, consistent and value-added financial reporting for Corporate departments
- Perform monthly analysis of period and YTD expense; ensure Corporate reporting deadlines are met
- Prepare quarterly rolling reforecast of total corporate department costs
- Facilitate annual budget preparation in collaboration with department heads; coordinate with Shared Service Accounting
- Lead preparation of financial models for large capital projects for Corporate departments; ensure appropriate accounting treatment and provide ongoing monitoring/reporting of such capital projects.
- Responsible for coordinating and maintaining the accounting and financial reporting controls for the departments
- Miscellaneous financial reporting to meet ad hoc needs of dept heads and Corporate reporting
Global SG&A Analysis & Reporting
- Working closely with the Finance leadership team, develop policies, processes and tools to track and manage SG&A spending on a global basis.
- Assist in setting and tracking global SG&A expense targets
- Coordinate global business unit SG&A expense reporting and oversight with appropriate business unit finance teams
- Periodically benchmark Sonoco SG&A expenses against like companies
Special projects and other accounting and reporting related activities, as needed and time permits
- Assist/lead efforts to identify and implement process improvements in Corporate Accounting & Reporting and other corporate areas as needed/requested; can include automation and process/workflow management tools
- Support finance integration of acquired companies in areas such as liaising the business unit and Corporate Accounting and assisting with purchase accounting activities.

- Bachelors / Masters degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration required (Accounting strongly preferred)
- Minimum of 15 years of experience required
- Certifications preferred - CPA and/or CMA
