The OpportunityThe Corporate Events & Operations Specialist plays a key role in fostering connection, culture, and engagement across our employee‑owned organization. Based at our Corporate Headquarters (WHQ), this role will own the relationship between Black & Veatch and our Corporate Store vendor. The specialist will also be responsible for planning and executing golf tournaments, a variety of summits and showcases, along with additional internal gatherings.This position partners closely with leadership, internal teams, and external vendors to deliver well‑organized, welcoming, and on‑brand experiences that reinforce our values and employee‑owner culture. The ideal candidate is highly organized, service‑oriented, and energized by bringing people together.Key ResponsibilitiesEmployee Engagement & Internal EventsPlan, coordinate, and execute golf tournaments, a variety of summits and showcases, along with additional internal gatherings, and culture‑building activitiesSupport internal meetings, town halls, trainings, and leadership eventsDevelop event timelines, logistics plans, and on‑site execution supportEnsure events align with company culture, values, and employee‑owned mindsetManage on‑site event coordination, including setup, teardown, and day‑of supportOperations SupportLead company‑wide gifting campaignsCoordinate space reservations, room setups, A/V needs, catering, and signagePartner with facilities, IT, HR, marketing, and leadership teams to support event needsMaintain event calendars and ensure smooth scheduling and communicationSupport consistent standards for appearance, readiness, and functionality of event spacesVendor & Logistics CoordinationCoordinate with caterers, rental companies, beverage providers, and other vendorsManage orders, deliveries, and on‑site vendor supportTrack event‑related expenses and assist with budget managementEnsure compliance with safety, security, and company policiesOperations & Administrative SupportAssist with maintaining event supplies, inventory, and storage areasManage corporate store, material requests, inventory, ensure products meet brand standards and are refreshed regularlyMaintain relationship with corporate store vendorDocument processes and help maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for eventsSupport post‑event recaps, feedback collection, and continuous improvementProvide hands‑on support across operations as needed in a dynamic HQ environmentPreferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Business, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience)4 - 6 years of experience in event coordination, office operations, or employee engagement rolesStrong organizational skills and attention to detailExcellent communication and relationship‑building skillsAbility to manage multiple events and priorities simultaneouslyWillingness to work occasional evenings or extended hours for eventsExperience supporting events in a corporate headquarters environmentBackground in employee engagement, internal communications, or culture initiativesExperience working in an employee‑owned or values‑driven organizationFamiliarity with event scheduling tools, vendor management, and basic budgetingSkills & CompetenciesEvent planning and on‑site executionLogistics and operational coordinationCustomer‑service and people‑first mindsetCollaboration and cross‑functional partnershipProblem‑solving and adaptabilityStrong sense of ownership and accountabilityMinimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in marketing, communication or a related field; or equivalent experience6+ years related experienceAll applicants must be able to complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.Work Environment/Physical DemandsHybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based upon manager discretion, job performance and work assignments.Salary PlanMAC: Marketing & CommunicationsJob Grade016Our comprehensive benefits portfolio is a key component of this commitment and offers an array of health care benefits including but not limited to medical, dental and vision insurances along with disability and a robust wellness program.Black & Veatch endeavors to make the careers site accessible to any and all users.
