Talent Acquisition Specialist (Immigration & Technology Recruiting)
Location: Minneapolis, MN
Pay Rate:$28.00–$32.00/hour
Duration:4-Month W2 Contract
Overview
We are seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist to support employment-based permanent residency (green card/PERM) processes while also managing full-cycle recruiting for Technology and Operations positions. This role primarily focuses on coordinating immigration-related recruitment activities while partnering with hiring managers to source, attract, and hire qualified talent.
The ideal candidate has experience in corporate recruiting, strong sourcing abilities, and knowledge of compliant hiring practices. Experience supporting employment-based immigration or PERM processes is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Immigration & Permanent Residency (Primary Focus)
- Coordinate employment-based permanent residency (PERM) cases from initiation through completion in partnership with HR, hiring leaders, and external immigration counsel.
- Manage PERM recruitment activities, including required job advertising and documentation, ensuring all regulatory deadlines are met.
- Review applicants against minimum job qualifications and document candidate dispositions in compliance with immigration regulations.
- Communicate with internal stakeholders and immigration counsel to ensure timely submission of required documentation.
- Track immigration case timelines, milestones, and deadlines to ensure efficient case progression.
- Maintain centralized tracking systems and provide updates on case status, risks, and upcoming deadlines.
Talent Acquisition (Secondary Focus)
- Manage the full-cycle recruitment process for Technology and Operations positions.
- Develop sourcing strategies using direct recruiting, networking, referrals, social media, and talent pipelines.
- Source, screen, interview, and present qualified candidates to hiring managers.
- Build strong relationships with hiring leaders to understand hiring needs and provide recruiting guidance.
- Deliver an exceptional candidate experience throughout the hiring process.
- Ensure recruiting activities comply with company policies and employment regulations.
- Identify potential hiring or compliance risks and partner with HR to resolve them.
- Support diversity and affirmative action recruiting initiatives where applicable.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 1–3 years of full-cycle recruiting experience.
- Proven experience sourcing, screening, and hiring candidates while following compliant hiring practices.
- Ability to partner effectively with hiring managers and business leaders.
- Strong sourcing skills, including direct sourcing and cold outreach.
- Experience using Microsoft Office, Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), recruiting tools, and social media sourcing platforms.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting employment-based immigration or PERM (green card) processes.
- Familiarity working with immigration attorneys and HR teams on employment-based permanent residency cases.
- Knowledge of employment immigration regulations and documentation requirements.
