Your Role
The Corporate Security team is responsible for the safety and security of Blue Shield of California employees, visitors, and property including oversight of all elements of the Executive Protection, safeguarding facilities, equipment, materials, and employee property. The Corporate Security role at the Consultant level will report to the Director, Corporate Security. In this role you will operate as a senior technical authority responsible for ensuring that all security programs are strategically designed, integrated, and optimized within the broader enterprise eco system.

Your Knowledge and Experience
- Required a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; preferred fields are Security Management, Business, or Criminal Justice
- Requires a minimum 7 years of experience in Executive Protection, Law Enforcement, Physical Security Management or Project Management
- Preferred professional certifications: ATAP CTM, ASIS PSP, ASIS CPP, or equivalent credentials, or ability to obtain within one year
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, team leadership, and communication skills
- Deep knowledge of Corporate Security and Executive Protection typically acquired through advanced education and substantial experience
- Emotional maturity, tact, and professionalism required in handling sensitive security matters
- Office-based work with up to 20% travel and varied activity levels; may involve facilities maintenance, repairs, or security tasks
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Our Workplace Model
This role requires in-office days at our Oakland office, in addition to visits to various sites and travel as business needs.
Your Work
In this role, you will:
- Lead and manage daily operations of the Executive Protection Program, aligning the enterprises with larger protection goals and strategy
- Design and implement travel security protocols, coordinating secure transportation logistics, route planning, and emergency contingencies
- Provide collaborative investigative support to other business partners on a variety of investigative subjects, including workplace violence, threat intelligence, or assigned IT Security, Corporate Compliance, or Privacy investigations
- Liaison with internal partners and external industry resources such as law enforcement, military, emergency responders, industry peers, and associations
- Oversee vendor relationships, contracts, and budgets related to your area of security operations. Maintain accurate financials of all vendor related expenses, ensuring we are tracking within budget
- Managing audits of Enterprise sites for compliance with established audit guidelines in your area of responsibility
- Analyze and summarize recommendations for site audits
- Assist in developing, streamlining, and implementing safety and emergency response programs as required for your area of responsibility
