Randstad is seeking a Corporate Security Systems Engineer on behalf of a premier client in Washington, DC, to serve as the primary Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all physical and electronic security engineering across the enterprise. In this high-impact role, you will lead the compliance, design evaluation, and strategic oversight of corporate security systems, ensuring all physical and electronic infrastructure aligns with strict corporate standards and industry best practices. Because design execution relies on external partners, you will play a critical role reviewing and guiding technical plans generated by outside consultants, architects, engineers, and contractors from initial concept through project completion.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the internal Subject Matter Expert (SME) for electronic and physical security systems engineering, design compliance, and technical standards.
Review, evaluate, and approve technical security system designs submitted by external architects, engineering firms, and contractors.
Ensure all security design proposals strictly align with organizational security standards, operational needs, and regulatory requirements.
Participate in all phases of the corporate security program lifecycle, bridging electronic systems with physical security needs.
Provide technical direction and quality assurance for external vendor deliverables, addressing design gaps prior to construction or deployment.
Collaborate with project managers, facility leads, and third-party stakeholders to integrate scalable security solutions into broad infrastructure initiatives.
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience: Proven track record in physical and electronic security systems engineering, design review, or security technology consultancy.
Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of modern electronic security systems (access control, CCTV/VMS, intrusion detection, and physical security integrations).
Standards & Compliance: Strong familiarity with industry best practices, building codes, and physical security compliance standards.
Vendor & Design Management: Demonstrated experience evaluating architectural drawings, engineering schematics, and submittals prepared by third-party contractors.
Communication: Superior technical writing and verbal communication skills to effectively interface with external engineers and internal executive leadership.
Location: Based in or willing to commute to Washington, DC.
