East Baton Rouge Parish Prison (also known as the East Baton Rouge Parish Jail) is a large local correctional facility.
The facility primarily serves as a holding center for pretrial defendants, individuals awaiting state mental hospital placement, and newly sentenced inmates awaiting transfer to state facilities.
The jail has an operational capacity to house up to 1,420 adult incarcerated individuals (both male and female).
It serves as a central booking hub for over 30 local law enforcement agencies, processing approximately 25 bookings and releases daily. Housing is not provided. Will be required to complete jail + nursing orientation.
