THE POSITION
The State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Greene is seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and creative Corrections Activities Specialist who is ready to make a positive impact. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position develops, leads, and maintains recreational and wellness programs designed to support inmate growth and constructive use of time. The role involves planning activities, guiding participants, and assisting with the administration of broad program goals. As a Corrections Activities Specialist, you will perform the following duties:

Plans, coordinates and organizes a recreational program for individuals confined to correctional facilities. This includes surveying interests; scheduling and planning a variety of activities such as games (i.e. board games, video games, shuffleboard, Bingo), arts and crafts, music, team sports and special events; reviewing inmate records to determine eligibility for recreational activities; recruiting/coordinating volunteers or paid instructors to play with, compete with, or instruct inmates; maintaining an inventory of recreational tools and equipment; evaluating the effectiveness of the program, and making improvements.
