    Department: Corrections

    Grade: 190

    Salary: $31.45/hour

    Job Duties:

    • Responsible for interviewing inmates daily; collecting, verifying, coordinating, and recording inmate information manually and in the current inmate information computer system.
    • Enters inmate data into the Objective Jail Classification System that identifies inmates' custody level and then assigns appropriate housing; determines the program needs of the inmate and makes appropriate referrals to education, substance abuse, mental health and other treatment programs.

    • Coordinates treatment interventions for the inmate between the various divisions such as education, mental health, medical. probation and parole, and other involved parties.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology, social work, administration of justice, or any of the behavioral sciences with a minimum of 2 years of work in secure corrections or related field is required. Or four years of experience in a correctional institution.
    • Associate’s degree in behavioral sciences, or a related field with 3 years of work experience in corrections or related field may be considered.
    • Four years of work experience in a secure correctional institution in lieu of a bachelor’s degree may be considered.
    • Must be at least 21 years of age.
    • Must participate in and complete the detention academy training.
    • Must submit to and pass a police background check, drug screen and physical examination.
