Corrections Security Officer - Entry Access

As a Corrections Security Officer - Entry Access in Charleston, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer supporting a government correctional environment, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, monitor assigned areas, and communicate professionally with staff and visitors. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and other individuals at a government correctional location by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control requirements, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and notification protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned interior and exterior areas, perimeters, access points, and parking areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and authorized movement throughout the location; verify credentials and direct visitors in accordance with established procedures.
• Document observations, incidents, and patrol activities accurately and promptly, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal supervision and designated site contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
• Have at least 1 year of law enforcement experience, 2 years of security-related supervisor or manager experience, or 3 years of security-related experience.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
