W-2 Contract

Duration - 12 Months

Location - San Diego, CA 92111

Pay Range - $22 to $25/hour

Position Summary

The Correspondent Quality Auditor plays an important role in the organization by performing a number of activities related to the company's correspondent lending functions. The role is primarily responsible, under general supervision, for performing quality assurance reviews to ensure mortgage loan processes and documents comply with applicable requirements, guidelines, and business standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Identify and resolve issues/errors in pre-funding of loan file review, and take corrective action to bring loans in compliance as needed.
  • Support the purchase of mortgage loans by examining them for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with policies, internal requirements, investor and third-party management standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform risk assessments on loans to detect errors and omissions; identify and escalate potential fraud and violations.
  • Verify that required information and data related to risks and issues are clearly documented and that proper procedures are followed for corrections and exceptions.
  • Provide recommendations for changes and stop-gaps to help increase efficiencies and/or reduce errors.
  • Review and interpret loan information; input necessary data into electronic compliance software system.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in Business, Finance, or related field preferred
  • Minimum one year experience in Mortgage lending related role(s)
  • In-depth knowledge of the overall consumer mortgage lending process (loan inception through closing), various types of mortgage products, and the supporting documentation that affects consumer mortgage lending.
  • Prior experience working with investor and third-party manager requirements preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities; strong detail orientation and highly organized.
  • Works with a strong sense of urgency and responsiveness.
  • ComplianceEase system experience a plus.
  • Intermediate math skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented; ability to work in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, Wiki, collaborative cloud-based programs, and third-party software applications required.
