DC Correspondent - Washington, D.C.

MBN (Middle East Broadcasting Network) is hiring a DC Correspondent / Reporter to cover daily developments in U.S. foreign policy, national security, and diplomacy. This role explains how Washington decisions affect political, economic, and security realities across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), delivering clear, accurate, and timely journalism for Arab audiences.

Occasional on-site work at our headquarters is required.

What You'll Do

• Monitor and report on the White House, State Department, Pentagon, Congress, and policy institutions • Produce timely news updates, explainers, and short-form stories • Support breaking news coverage with speed and editorial judgment • Conduct research, fact checking, and source outreach • Contribute to enterprise, investigative, and long-form projects • Build relationships with press officers, analysts, and congressional staff • Write scripts, digital articles, and newsletter-ready summaries • Record on-camera stand-ups or voiceovers as needed (training provided) • Translate complex U.S. policy into clear, accessible content for MENA audiences

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in journalism, Communications, Political Science, International Relations, or related field (or equivalent experience) • 1-3 years of reporting experience, including internships, fellowships, or early newsroom roles • Strong writing and editing skills under tight deadlines • Demonstrated interest in U.S. foreign policy, national security, and MENA affairs • Strong research, organization, and time-management skills • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced newsroom • Strong collaboration and communication skills

Preferred:

• On-camera or broadcast reporting experience • Arabic language familiarity or cultural fluency • Experience with digital or multimedia storytelling

Salary & Benefits

$85,000 - $115,000 per year (Depending on Experience )
