Cost Accountant

Job DescriptionThe Cost Accountant will report directly to the Inventory Control Manager.We are seeking an independent self‑starter to assist in the day‑to‑day inventory management and Cost Accounting process. This position will work with Inventory Control assisting with the tracking and valuation of inventory. The role involves the Supply Chain and Sales & Operations Planning processes, performing data analysis for purchasing requirements. Costing activities include variance and standard cost evaluation and assisting in the monthly close.Month‑end valuation of inventoryGeneral ledger inventory and COGS account reconciliationsObsolete and slow‑moving inventory reserve calculationsPhysical inventory and cycle‑count reconciliation and metricsAid in ABC models and monthly inventory forecastingTracking and researching monthly variances (PPV, work order variances, etc.)Analyze month, quarter, and annual variances to actual, budget, forecast, and strategic sales dataProvide external and internal audit supportAssist with quarter and annual reportsQualificationsMinimum Education, Skills, and Work Experience Required:Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance or a related field required3–5 years of experience with a deep background in costingExperience with Microsoft Office ProductsAdvanced Excel skills required with full understanding of pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, charts and graphsAbility to organize work into priorities and meet deadlinesStrong attention to detail and ability to work with a high degree of accuracy requiredWork Experience and/or Qualification Preferences:2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment with cost accounting, production planning or inventory control background preferredExperience with an MRP/ERP system a plusAbility to work in both a manufacturing and an office environmentStrong ability to work under pressure to meet deadlinesStrong ability to multi‑task and manage own time efficientlyMust have the physical ability to travel within a large‑scale plantAdditional InformationMagnesium Elektron North America offers a full range of benefits including:Competitive starting wageMedical/Dental/Vision insurance plansFlexible Spending account for Medical and Dependent CareCompany‑paid Life, Short‑term Disability, and Long‑term Disability plans401(k) with up to a 6% company matchGenerous vacation policy#J-18808-Ljbffr
