Employ Partners is seeking an experienced Cost Accountant to join a growing manufacturing facility in Canton, GA. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional with manufacturing experience to play a key role in financial operations, compliance, inventory accounting, and reporting within a stable, team-oriented environment.

Cost Accountant Responsibilities:

• Reconcile and maintain capital accounts including fixed assets, CIP, and tooling
• Ensure accurate capitalization and timely invoicing of tooling expenses
• Analyze payroll data and medical claims reporting
• Prepare accurate and timely journal entries and financial documentation
• Assist with inventory classification, material transactions, and master data setup
• Support sales tax, payroll tax, and property tax compliance activities
• Assist with external audits, insurance renewals, and financial reporting requirements
• Analyze and interpret financial statements in accordance with GAAP standards
• Support internal controls and compliance initiatives including J-SOX and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
• Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, management, and accounting teams
• Perform additional accounting and finance-related duties as needed

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
• Automotive manufacturing experience preferred
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial statement analysis
• Experience with internal controls and compliance processes
• Knowledge of J-SOX and/or U.S. Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
• Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems
• Understanding of inventory and material transaction impacts within manufacturing
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Team-oriented mindset with strong customer service skills
