Constellation Search Group is seeking a Cost Accountant for a full-time direct hire position. The Cost Accountant will play a crucial role in accurately and consistently completing accounting functions for assigned projects. This position will be based on-site in Elgin, IL.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop strategies to reduce costs and evaluate product pricing to ensure optimal return on investment.
  • Prepare budgeting reports by collecting and analyzing data from various departments.
  • Investigate discrepancies in financial records and perform month-end close activities, including journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Conduct regular audits and ensure compliance with accounting regulations, specifically those applicable in India.
  • Examine production costs to identify the most efficient production methods.
  • Ensure accurate classification of expenses according to GAAP.
  • Research material costs to maintain accuracy in the company's accounting system.
  • Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare reports comparing standard prices to actual production costs.
  • Participate in physical inventory counts to ensure inventory record accuracy.
  • Monitor direct labor, overhead, and other manufacturing-related expenses.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in finance or commerce with a specialization in accountancy.
  • 3+ years of experience in accountancy or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as IFS, SAP, or JD Edwards and thorough understanding of GAAP.
  • Strong analytical skills for decision-making based on data analysis.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills for discussing financial reports with stakeholders.

Salary Disclaimer:
The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $120,000. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location.
