CONSTRUCTION COST ACCOUNTANT

A well-established construction organization is seeking an experienced Construction Cost Accountant to provide financial oversight for multiple active construction projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage project financials from job setup through closeout
• Partner with Project Managers on job costs, forecasting and revenue recognition
• Review and process subcontractor and project invoices
• Prepare and analyze monthly job cost reports, variances and financial risks
• Manage progress billings and monitor over/under billings
• Prepare required billing documentation and manage lien waiver compliance
• Support subcontracts, change orders and contract modifications
• Monitor receivables, retention and subcontractor payments
• Maintain accurate financial reporting across multiple active projects
• Identify potential financial issues before they impact project performance
• Improve accounting processes, controls and reporting

QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years of construction cost accounting experience with a General Contractor or Subcontractor
• Experience managing financials for multiple construction projects simultaneously
• 2+ years working within a construction ERP such as Acumatica, Procore, Viewpoint or similar
• Strong knowledge of job costing, AIA billing, progress billing and change orders
• Experience with contract compliance and lien waivers
• Cost-Plus contract experience preferred
• Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work independently while partnering closely with project teams
