We are seeking a seasoned and dynamic Cost Accountant to join our Accounting and Finance team. This role is pivotal to our organization and will play a critical role in ensuring our financial health. This position requires a highly motivated individual with a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of cost accounting principles. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting complex cost analysis, evaluating production yields, and providing critical financial insight to guide our business decisions.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and maintain the cost accounting system, documents, and records of the organization.
2. Analyze and recommend costs and cost savings by collecting and providing information on production costs, production yields, and other aspects of the business.
3. Prepare and complete internal cost audits.
4. Comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements.
5. Analyze the data collected and log a detailed record of the results.
6. Analyze any changes in goods or services provided in order to determine what effect these changes will have on the cost.
7. Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
8. Make estimates of new and proposed product costs.
9. Provide management with reports that specify and compare factors that affect prices and profitability of products or services.
10. Assist in audits and general ledger preparation.
11. Conduct physical inventories and monitor the cycle count program.

Qualifications:

1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in Cost Accounting is required.
2. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required. A Master’s degree in a related field or a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is preferred.
3. Proficient in Cost Accounting, Production Yields, Cost Analysis.
4. Excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts.
5. Exceptional knowledge of cost accounting principles, procedures, and standards.
6. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills.
7. Experience with accounting software and databases.
8. High attention to detail and accuracy.
9. Ability to effectively communicate complex data to non-financial personnel.
10. Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task, and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
11. Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and their impact on cost structures.
12. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
13. Ability to work as part of a team and to build strong working relationships.
14. Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity.
