Salary Range: $80,000 – $90,000
We are seeking a detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join our manufacturing team in Elkhart, Indiana. This fully onsite position is ideal for an accounting professional with a strong manufacturing background who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys partnering with operations to improve profitability. The successful candidate will play a key role in cost accounting, inventory management, financial analysis, and reporting while supporting strategic business decisions through accurate and timely financial information.
Collect, analyze, and report manufacturing cost data, including standard costs, cost of goods sold (COGS), inventory valuation, and cost variances.
Maintain standard costs, create and validate Bills of Material (BOMs), manage new item setup, and monitor inventory costing accuracy.
Prepare variance analysis comparing expected versus actual manufacturing costs and provide actionable insights to operations and leadership.
Perform financial modeling, ad hoc analysis, and special projects to support operational improvements and business performance.
Collaborate with accounting and operations teams to improve processes, support cross-functional initiatives, and maintain compliance with GAAP and company policies.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
Minimum of 3 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, standard costing, inventory accounting, BOMs, and variance analysis.
Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, or similar.
Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
