The Florida-based corporation has production and shipping operations in Florida, California, Arizona, Michigan and Georgia with additional domestic and international locations.Duda Farm Fresh Foods, is currently looking for a Cost Accountant to join our Accounting team in our Wellington and Belle Glade, Florida locations. The ideal candidate will support the Eastern region value-added processing plant by managing cost accounting, inventory control, and financial reporting for the Food & Agriculture division. Based primarily out of Wellington location, this role requires travel to regional plant 2-3 days per week during the processing season to support business partners and operations.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintain standard costs and product costing data; analyze variances and recommend corrective actions.
- Manage inventory costing, accuracy, reconciliations, and controls.
- Support month-end close, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and COGS analysis.
- Maintain BOMs, routings, and ERP costing data.
- Evaluate cost impacts of new products, process improvements, and capital projects.
- Partner with operations to improve cost performance and inventory controls.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and GAAP.
- Manage daily work order closures, packaging reconciliations, and invoice/PO approvals.
- Prepare month-end entries, financial reports, and variance analysis.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost modeling for plant operations.
- Monitor budget-to-actual performance and provide financial insights to leadership.
- Partner with plant operations to improve costing, inventory controls, and financial performance.
- Support audits, capital projects, continuous improvement initiatives, and financial training.
- Overnight travel may be required
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related business field.
- Experience: 5+ years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook; ERP experience (DAX preferred).
- Knowledge & Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills with knowledge of cost accounting, inventory management, and financial reporting.
- Valid driver’s license.
