Position Overview


The Cost Accountant will play a key role in supporting manufacturing operations by analyzing product costs, maintaining inventory accuracy, and providing financial insights that drive business performance. This role offers significant visibility across operations, supply chain, and leadership teams.


Responsibilities



  • Analyze and maintain standard costing for manufactured products

  • Monitor inventory transactions and ensure inventory accuracy

  • Perform variance analysis related to labor, materials, overhead, and production activities

  • Assist with month-end close, including inventory and cost accounting entries

  • Reconcile inventory accounts and investigate discrepancies

  • Partner with operations leadership to identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements

  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives

  • Develop and maintain reporting related to manufacturing performance and profitability

  • Assist with physical inventory counts and cycle count programs

  • Support audits and special projects as needed


Qualifications



  • 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment

  • Understanding of cost accounting principles, inventory accounting, and standard costing

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems

  • Ability to communicate effectively across finance and operational teams

  • Manufacturing industry experience strongly preferred
