We are seeking a Cost Accountant III to contribute to a manufacturing environment with a focus on cost accounting, operational reporting, and business analysis. This role supports product costing, manufacturing cost analysis, and accurate financial postings for production and related activities. The position involves collaboration with Operations and FP&A teams to drive efficiency and cost improvements using SAP and cost accounting principles.ResponsibilitiesCost Accounting & Analysis: Serve as the primary contact for Operations managers on production cost accounting and cost center expense analysis, in collaboration with the FP&A teamEstablish and maintain accurate product costing in SAP S4/Hana, verifying master data and calculation methodsCalculate, investigate, and follow up on production, operational, and purchasing variances (Inventory, Absorption, PPV, etc.), directing improvement opportunities to the businessPerform raw material standard vs. actual variance analysis and cost development reviewsDemonstrate knowledge of fixed asset acquisition, capitalization, and life cycle activitiesFinancial Close & Reporting: Provide technical and practical support for monthly financial close, production-related settlements, cycle counts, and inventory auditsPerform GL account reconciliations to ensure accurate financial postingsAssist in the preparation and analysis of manufacturing and supply chain reportsReview vendor invoices for raw material purchases and follow up on discrepanciesCompliance & Internal Controls: Support cost accounting efforts for maintaining JSOX internal controlsAssist with internal and external audit inquiries and samplesContribute to the development and maintenance of accounting policies and proceduresCollaboration & Continuous Improvement: Collaborate on multidisciplinary projects, drive solutions and process improvements; apply understanding of supply chain workflows, manufacturing processes, and maintenance order activities as they relate to the general ledger; complete work efficiently and accurately; provide administrative support as neededPersonal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements: PPE may be required to ensure health and safety in the workplace, including items such as a Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, and a respirator where applicable.QualificationsEducationRequired: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related disciplineEssential Qualifications4-6 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environmentStrong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures (GAAP, IFRS)Proficiency in SAP cost accountingAdvanced Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel and database functionsAbility to work effectively in both office and manufacturing environmentsEffective communication and teamwork skillsAbility to handle confidential information responsiblyResilient, self-motivated, and able to perform under pressureAbility to operate independently with minimal supervisionWorking-level knowledge of the English language (reading, writing, speaking)Alignment to Panasonic's seven core principles: contribution to society, fairness and honesty, cooperation and team spirit, untiring effort for improvement, courtesy and humility, adaptability, gratitudePreferred QualificationsExperience with SAP S4/HanaBackground in multi-application IT environments, including electronic interfacesExperience with warehouse, stock management, and manufacturing operationsExperience working with domestic and international teamsPreferred Certification(s)CMA: Certified Management AccountantCPA: Certified Public AccountantMBA: Master of Business AdministrationPhysical DemandsPhysical Activities: Sit 40%, Walk 30%, Stand 20%, Lift 10% during the normal workday.
