Job Title: Cost Accountant
Location: Malvern, Pa

Our client, a manufacturer, is on the market to add a Cost Accountant to their team. The Cost Accountant is responsible for establishing and maintaining accurate standard costs for manufactured products. This role partners closely with manufacturing and operations teams to provide financial reporting, cost analysis, inventory insights, and support for budgeting and strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain standard product costs within the ERP system
- Perform initial cost valuation for new items and revalue existing products as needed
- Conduct monthly analysis of cost variances, cost of sales, warranty, and general & administrative expenses
- Analyze inventory trends, including slow-moving inventory, and recommend appropriate reserves
- Support month-end close processes, including inventory reconciliations and journal entries
- Provide operational insights and recommendations related to purchasing and inventory management
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve inventory flow and cost efficiency
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets
- Support capital expenditure analysis and reporting
- Analyze and report on warranty-related costs
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with ERP systems, preferably Oracle or similar
Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel
- Ability to collect, interpret, and analyze financial data
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Self-starter with strong initiative and resourcefulness
