Join a High-Growth Medical Device Manufacturer

At Life Science Outsourcing (LSO), we are a trusted partner to leading medical device companies, delivering high-quality, life-saving products in a regulated, fast-paced environment. As we continue to scale, we're looking for a Cost Accountant who can bring financial clarity to our operations and help drive smarter, data-informed decisions across the business.

If you thrive at the intersection of finance, operations, and strategy, and enjoy turning data into actionable insights, this is an opportunity to make a measurable impact.

What You'll Do

As a key partner to Finance and Operations leadership, you will play a critical role in strengthening cost visibility, improving margins, and supporting business growth.

Cost Accounting & Analysis

  • Develop and maintain standard costing models (labor, materials, overhead)
  • Analyze manufacturing variances and provide actionable recommendations
  • Support month-end close activities (inventory, COGS, production reporting)
  • Deliver margin and profitability analysis by product, customer, and program

Inventory & Manufacturing Partnership

  • Collaborate with Operations to ensure accurate BOMs and routings
  • Support cycle counts and physical inventory processes
  • Analyze inventory trends (turns, excess, obsolescence)
  • Ensure compliance with inventory controls in a regulated (FDA/ISO) environment

Pricing & Business Support

  • Partner with Sales and Program teams on quoting and pricing strategies
  • Evaluate financial impact of new product introductions (NPI)
  • Identify cost drivers and cost reduction opportunities

Process Improvement & Systems

  • Improve cost accounting processes and internal controls
  • Support ERP system enhancements and optimization
  • Help build KPIs, dashboards, and reporting tools for operational efficiency

Compliance & Audit

  • Ensure adherence to GAAP and internal policies
  • Support internal/external audits and documentation
  • Maintain strong internal controls aligned with best practices

What You Bring

Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 3-7 years of cost accounting experience in manufacturing
  • Experience in medical device, life sciences, or regulated environments preferred

Technical Skills

  • Strong expertise in:

  • Standard costing

  • Variance analysis

  • Inventory accounting

  • COGS and margin analysis

  • Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, etc.)

  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis)

Mindset & Impact

  • Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable partnering cross-functionally with Operations & Supply Chain
  • Able to translate financial data into clear business insights
  • Continuous improvement mindset with interest in automation and AI-driven efficiency

Why Join LSO?

  • Work in a mission-driven industry supporting life-saving technologies
  • Be a strategic partner to leadership, not just a back-office function
  • Opportunity to influence cost structure, pricing, and profitability
  • Exposure to high-growth operations and executive decision-making
  • Collaborative culture that values innovation and continuous improvement

Work Environment

  • Hybrid interaction between office and manufacturing floor
  • Hands-on collaboration with production and operational teams
  • Occasional participation in inventory activities

Make an Impact

This role goes beyond traditional accounting, you'll help shape how we understand cost, improve performance, and scale intelligently as a business.
