Join our Accounting Department as a pivotal team member in charge of managing product costing, overseeing work order gains and losses, and handling metal management initiatives like refining partnerships, metal hedging, and inventory accuracy across multiple sites.
**Key Responsibilities:**
**Inventory and Cost Management:**
- Conduct the annual cost roll by assessing material expenses and determining direct labor and overhead rates.
- Create reports on job order discrepancies and aid in analyzing these variances.
- Match copper ledger scrap records with actual physical scrap.
- Contribute to the monthly reconciliation of metals against ledger and banking records.
- Support the physical inventory count each year, if necessary.
- Compile cycle count accuracy metrics and carry out quarterly audits.
- Review and analyze metal gains/losses and report quarterly on surplus or expired inventory items, ensuring their disposal.
- Maintain the item Master in our M2M system as updates are required.
- Adjust standard costs for individual inventory items when needed.
- Generate reports on inventory and labor turnover, and resolve any labor reporting anomalies.
- Reconcile waste from the Screw Machine Department and conduct various inventory transactions within our M2M system.
**Financial Reporting and Analysis:**
- Ensure accurate month-end closes through timely journal entries and reconciliations.
- Assist in the preparation and review for annual financial audits.
- Collaborate in generating quarterly forecasts and setting annual budgets.
- Cross-verify budgeted headcount with production hours as part of the budgeting process.
- Work alongside the Cost Accounting Manager to appraise product margins and costing.
**Skills and Qualifications:**
- Expertise in Job Costing/Inventory Control Systems.
- Proficient in Excel with excellent written and oral communication abilities.
- Detail-oriented with strong numerical aptitude.
- Bachelor's degree focused on Accounting is mandatory.
- Proven experience with inventory control and movement, particularly in a manufacturing context, is essential (2-3 years preferred).
**Physical and Travel Requirements:**
- Ability to work extensively at a computer.
- Must navigate various departments within the facility freely.
- Potential for some domestic and international travel.
