This is anon-exempt position and reports to the Senior Cost Accountant.Critical job functionsTrack expenses related to labor, materials, subcontractors, and other costs for each location.Collect, review and enter daily productions from the field and reconcile discrepancies.Review intra-company inventory movements including proper transfer pricing.Collect monthly energy readings from Plant Managers for monthly accrual postingWeekly review of inventory reports and analysis of variances by locationsPrepare cost-related reports for management.Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.Assist with scheduling inventory flyovers and readings, reconcile with perpetual inventoryContribute to accurate financial statements and external audit supportAssist in monthly review of productions with the division and site leadershipAssist in analyzing and establishing standard costs for produced materials.Regularly review and update cost standards.10-15% travel required, based out of West Springfield office.Other duties as assigned.Position RequirementsProficiency in cost accounting principles; HMA and Aggregate industry preferredExcellent organizational, analytical, interpersonal, problem solving and communication skills.Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.Strong interpersonal skills; self-motivated and curiousVery comfortable with Microsoft Office products including proficiency in Excel.Familiarity with Vista a plusEducation and Experience Required. Associates degree or higher in accounting or equivalent field experience3-5 years of general accounting experience to include payroll, accounts payable or accounts receivable.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee tosuccessfully perform the essential functions of this job.
