Job Details

Responsibilities:

1. Oversee and manage the entire cost accounting function, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of financial data.
2. Conduct comprehensive inventory analysis, monitoring and analyzing inventory valuation, turnover, and reserves.
3. Develop and maintain labor and overhead absorption rates, providing critical insight into our cost structures and profitability.
4. Manage BOMs (Bill of Materials), ensuring accurate and up-to-date cost information.
5. Oversee fixed asset accounting, including depreciation, disposals, and asset tracking.
6. Prepare and post monthly entries, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
7. Work closely with the finance team to prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
8. Drive continuous improvement initiatives in the cost accounting process, identifying opportunities for efficiency and accuracy improvements.
9. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, providing cost accounting expertise and support as needed.
10. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and internal policies.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A CPA or CMA certification is highly desirable.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in the Medical Device or a highly-regulated industry.
3. Proficient in inventory analysis, labor and overhead absorption rates, BOMs, fixed asset accounting, and monthly entries.
4. Strong knowledge of GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
6. Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
7. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
8. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and experience with accounting software.
9. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
10. High level of integrity and dependability, with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
