Job Title Cost Analyst/ Cost EstimatorLocation Redstone Arsenal - Huntsville, AL (On-site)Job Overview Canvas provides engineering services and technical solutions for federal and commercial markets. The candidate will support a Project Manager and/or Product Manager by performing programmatic support and preparing or reviewing Life Cycle Cost Estimates, Independent Government Cost Estimates, and other cost inputs.Key Responsibilities Communicate effectively with technical, acquisition, and resource management leads.Prepare Independent Government Estimates (IGEs) and support contract negotiations.Execute DoD cost estimating models for design-to-cost, alternatives, cost reduction, risk evaluation, and budget preparation.Provide advice to functional elements on program cost factors and impact on alternatives.Analyze mission requirements to determine cost parameters and adjust cost models.Calculate risk of trade‑off analysis and other studies.Support program and project schedules, and demonstrate proficiency with DoD directives and regulations.Conduct broad‑base analysis and benefit‑cost analysis (BCA/CBA).Develop and maintain detailed automated cost models and work breakdown structures (WBS).Assist with pre‑award contract requirement packages, including market research, acquisition plans, justification, PWS, CDRL, IGE, RFI, solicitation draft.Evaluate cost elements: labor, travel, materials, ODC, overhead, G&A, cost of money.Support long‑range procurement objectives and risk management activities.Plan, prioritize, and organize workload in a high‑tempo environment.Participate in assignment definition and deadline setting.Education Requirements Minimum: Bachelor's Degree in a related field.Qualifications & Experience Headquarters Staff experience or similar DoD Program/Project Office experience.Knowledge of DoD acquisition process and procurement regulations.Experience with cost analysis, risk identification, and management.Experienced with Automated Cost Estimating Integrated Tool (ACEIT).Proficient in Microsoft Excel.Other Requirements Travel: Up to 5% of the time.Security Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.Benefits Competitive wages.Medical, Rx, dental, and vision insurance.Company‑funded basic life insurance.Short‑term and long‑term disability.11 paid federal holidays.Generous paid time off (PTO).Dependent care and medical flexible spending accounts.401(k) retirement plan with company match and 100% immediate vesting.Tuition reimbursement for training and advanced degree programs.Robust employee assistance program.Employee referral bonus program.Corporate sponsored events & community outreach.Spot awards for performance.Discretionary performance‑based bonuses.EEO Statement Canvas is an equal opportunity employer and a VEVRAA federal contractor that affirms equal employment opportunity for protected veterans and people with disabilities.
