Role Overview
Drive the development of accurate cost models and customer-ready quotations for custom assembly machinery. You will translate part assembly requirements and customer objectives into clear proposals by combining application expertise, vendor inputs, and practical layout concepts.
What You’ll Do
- Process customer RFQs, preparing quotations and detailed pricing breakdowns for Account Managers.
- Receive quote lineups from Account Managers or directly from customers and organize them into formal proposals.
- Partner with Account Managers to shape machine layouts and concepts that support quoting.
- Solicit and evaluate component pricing and quotations from vendors.
- Assemble comprehensive pricing for each quote, including granular labor and purchased-material details.
- Produce customer-specific pricing breakdowns when required by the RFQ.
- Manage follow-up requests and provide additional information to Account Managers as needed.
- Maintain and update a pricing reference guide for commonly purchased components.
Skills & Experience
- Strong understanding of assembly machinery processes and industry-preferred practices.
- Background in assembly equipment for powertrain, axle, and transmission applications.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks is preferred.
- Ability to produce simple assembly line layouts and clear visual machine concepts.
- Willing and able to travel to customer sites within the U.S. and internationally.
- Valid driver’s license required.
