JOB DESCRIPTION

Overview

The Costing Analyst oversees development and management of product costs: material cost, conversion cost, manufacturing equipment requirements, labor requirements, cycle times, tooling and capital requirements for new business or changes to current business.

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop quotations that will be submitted to OEM customers through business units
  • Develop risks/opportunities with each quote
  • Review complex bill of materials for reasonableness
  • Review manufacturing assumptions for reasonableness
  • Effectively communicate cost data to the organization
  • Develop rates for manufacturing plants
  • Analyze cost variance and financial metrics
  • Support purchasing negotiate prices with suppliers as required and provide cost targets for purchased components
  • Provide product cost reduction estimates as required
  • Actively contribute to departmental initiatives/process improvements to enhance the overall department’s effectiveness
  • Work on special projects, as needed

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Business or Operations or Engineering
  • 1-3 years’ experience in Finance or Operations or Manufacturing or Engineering or Purchasing in the Automotive Industry
  • Strong computer skills, i.e., Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Self-motivated and eager to learn
  • Interest in understanding both the financial and technical side of operations and manufacturing
  • Demonstrated experience as a value-added team member
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work cross-functionally across the organization
  • Occasional travel required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration
  • Intern experience within the Automotive Industry
  • Foreign language skills
