Job Summary:
The Costume Technician is responsible for supporting Theatre TCU's Costume Studio in constructing new costumes and altering rented, borrowed or stock costumes for theatre productions. The Costume Technician will also provide support to students as needed in completion of projects related to Theatre TCU productions and theatre coursework.
Duties & Essential Job Functions:
Work closely with the Costume Studio to construct and tailor costumes, make alterations, assist with fittings and/or repair of costumes, millinery, and shoes.
Supervise and assist students with sewing and costume construction projects.
Maintain a safe environment\u2014monitor students for safe use of Costume Studio and classroom sewing machines, sergers, hemmers, and industrial irons.
Keep track of supplies and convey any needs to Costume Studio Manager.
Assist in duties for daily set-up and clean-up of the Costume Studio, dressing rooms, and classroom spaces.
