Costumer Associate, Theater Department- Part Time Salary $17.85 Hourly

Description: The Costumer Associate is responsible for the designer and costume staff in the completion of productions and costume related activities. The costume related activities include, but are not limited to maintaining stock, constructing costumes, fittings, making alterations, laundering, helping with inventory, and keeping costume areas clear and organized. The position may serve as dressers for productions.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree and 1 year experience with costume related activities or
  • Associates degree with 3 years of similar experience.
  • Able to work overtime during peak periods and fill in for absences as needed.

Positions located on the Catonsville & Essex campuses

Class Specific Essential Duties:

  • Assists in all aspects of costume production.
  • Builds, either by machine or hand, the costumes assigned.
  • Communicates with team members concerning problems and their possible solutions.
  • Plans and executes the dyeing and painting of fabrics.
  • Purchases materials either locally or otherwise for productions.
  • Borrows and/or returns borrowed items from other theaters.
  • Maintains wigs/hair for productions.
  • Cleaning the workroom and sewing machines.
  • Attends production meetings and costume related meetings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

The Roth 403(b) savings feature is only offered by the following vendors: TIAA-CREF and VOYA Financial Advisors, Inc. Adjunct Faculty, Part Time Associates and Full Time employees are eligible to save for retirement using the Roth 403(b) savings feature.

Employees may contribute traditional pre-tax 403(b) dollars and Roth 403(b) post-tax dollars simultaneously. The savings limits are combined for the Traditional 403(b) and the Roth 403(b) contributions.

Deferred Compensation Plan - 457(b) offered through VOYA Financial Advisors, Inc. The 457(b) salary reduction authorization form is needed. The form is available on SharePoint Forms/Human Resources Forms.

Parking Free. Must obtain a parking permit from the Department of Public Safety to use on all campuses.
