Join Our Team as a COTA Acute Care Hospital Therapy/Rehabilitation Specialist!

Are you passionate about making a meaningful difference in patients’ lives during critical recovery phases? We are seeking a dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our dynamic inpatient acute care hospital team. In this vital role, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional therapy services to patients with diverse and complex medical conditions, from ICU to progressive care units. Your expertise will help patients regain their independence and achieve optimal recovery outcomes in a fast-paced, supportive environment.

Required Skills:
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a COTA in an acute hospital setting
  • Valid state licensure and BLS certification
  • Strong knowledge of acute care rehab protocols and patient assessment techniques
  • Proficiency in charting with Cerner or similar electronic medical records systems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to evaluate, develop, and implement personalized care plans including ADL training, therapeutic exercises, and functional activities

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Certifications in Manual Therapy, Lymphedema, or other specialized modalities
  • Experience with Cerner EHR system
  • Knowledge of inpatient diverse diagnoses such as CABG, stroke, TBI, joint replacements, respiratory illnesses, and neurodegenerative conditions

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant credential (NBCOT-certified)
  • At least one year of previous experience in acute hospital rehabilitation or similar fast-paced medical environment

Other Requirements:
  • Ability to work the scheduled shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, with one weekend day per month
  • Scrub color: Royal Blue; black shoes
  • Availability to start by June 2, 2026
  • Willingness to adhere to hospital policies regarding licensure, certifications, and reimbursement guidelines
