Position Summary
The COTA works closely with the Occupational Therapist to provide direct patient care and support rehabilitation goals. This role plays an essential part in delivering high-quality, patient-centered therapy services.
Key Responsibilities (Summary):
- Provide occupational therapy treatments as directed by the Occupational Therapist and physician treatment plans
- Document daily treatments, progress notes, and required therapy records in compliance with state regulations and payer requirements
- Communicate patient progress and needs with the interdisciplinary care team
- Assist with restorative aide training and caregiver education
- Participate in discharge planning and family education
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized treatment area
- Support in-services and ongoing staff education
Qualifications:
- Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in good standing with the State of CA
- Knowledge of documentation systems such as Casamba and PointClickCare preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to teamwork and compassionate patient care
- Meets all continuing education requirements per state regulations
