The Counsel role supports the Legal Department by handling programming acquisitions, production, marketing, digital media, and distribution legal matters.
- Maintains knowledge of applicable laws and industry standards impacting media and content operations.
- Drafts, reviews, and negotiates contracts and legal documents, advising internal clients on legal risks.
- Specializes in areas such as audiovisual content, intellectual property, marketing, and digital media law.
- Manages outside counsel for litigation and legal issues.
- May supervise legal support staff and participate in professional development activities.
- Develops strategies to minimize legal risks and aligns legal activities with corporate goals.
- Requires at least 2 years of contract law experience; preferred knowledge of content licensing, IP, entertainment, and digital media.
- JD and admission to applicable state bar required; location options include Bristol, CT, or New York, NY.
