EXAMPLE OF DUTIES : Provide individual, family, and group therapy to juveniles and families Provide 24-hour emergency crisis intervention for the detention center Provide parenting skills classes as directed Provide group counseling services to juveniles in detention as directed Conduct substance abuse and behavioral assessments for the JPO's and the Court Identify juvenile needs that cannot be addressed in-house and make appropriate referral recommendations Provide crisis intervention for the Department clients Maintain accurate and timely written reports related to the juvenile's participation and progress in counseling Actively participate in weekly staff meetings providing recommendations for counseling services Maintain awareness and application of specific Texas License Code of Ethics and HIPPA. Provide court testimony as directed Perform other duties as assigned REQUIREMENTS : Training and Experience: Master degree in social work, counseling, or psychology LPC, LMFT, or LMSW, preferred. LPC-Associate or LMFT-Associate is acceptable. Bi-lingual (Spanish speaking) Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Commitment to the department's vision of developing people to their full potential Knowledge of counseling theories and interventions Ability to work with juvenile clients and their family Ability to administer group counseling Ability to work in a team atmosphere Additional Requirements: Must be able to work evenings and provide 24-hour on call service on a rotating basis Must have a telephone at which he/she can be reached Must possess a valid Texas Drivers License (if employee is coming to this position from another state, this requirement must be met no later than 30 days following the date of employment) Must have access to an automobile that can be used while on duty and have liability insurance Must be able to pass physical agility test Approved: Rick Sutton Date Director
