HOURS

  • Tuesday and Thursday 3:15 p.m. - 7:45 p.m.

OFFICE LOCATION: 311 N. Sumneytown Pike, Colmar, PA

  

 

 

 

The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Counselor is a mental health Professional who provides confidential, short-term counseling and support to employees of contracted businesses. Contracted businesses provide EAP services to their employees with the goal of addressing issues before they affect work performance, improving productivity, and reducing absenteeism.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide assessment, short-term counseling and counseling both in person and virtually and maintain all applicable documentation.

  • Conduct critical incident stress debriefing sessions.

  • Provide mediation sessions as requested by contracted companies.

  • Participate in planning, developing, and conducting training and professional development courses to contracted and non-contracted companies including live, recorded and virtual formats.

  • Conduct support groups and employee orientations.

  • Provide support with account management as requested by the program manager, including the development of referral sources.

  • Assist EAP team with marketing plan implementation through participation in business groups and marketing fairs and build relationships with community and business leaders.

  • Maintains confidentiality of all records handled within the Network/ Entity as well as the proper release of information.

  • Complies with Network and departmental policies regarding issues of employee, patient and environmental safety and follows appropriate reporting requirements

  • Demonstrates/models the Network’s PCRAFT values during interactions with all customers.

  • Demonstrates Performance Improvement in the following areas as appropriate: Clinical Care/Outcomes, Customer/Service Improvement, Operational System/Process, and Safety.

  • Demonstrates financial responsibility and accountability through the effective and efficient use of resources in daily procedures, processes and practices.

  • Complies with Network and departmental policies regarding attendance and dress code.

  • Demonstrates competency in the assessment, range of treatment, knowledge of growth and development and communication appropriate to the age of the patient treated. Participate in continuing education to stay current and expand knowledge in area relevant to population served.

PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:

Must have ability to sit for up to 8 hours per day.  Must have the ability to touch as it relates to feeling objects by touching with the skin, particularly that of fingertips. Must have the ability to hear as it relates to normal conversation, high frequency and low frequency hearing sounds. Must have the ability to see as it relates to general vision, near vision, color vision and peripheral vision.

EDUCATION:

Master’s degree with major course work in social work, psychology, criminal justice, counseling or education.  Licensure in Social Work or Professional Counseling preferred but not required.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

Experience providing counseling, mental health and drug and alcohol assessment and treatment, and crisis intervention.
