Ed Herrington, Inc. is seeking a full-time Counter/Paint Sales Associate for our Millerton, NY location. This position offers a daytime schedule of Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and every other Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Counter/Paint Sales Associate is responsible for providing exceptional customer service while supporting paint and building materials sales. Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting customers at the paint and building products sales counter.
- Greeting customers, identifying their needs, and recommending appropriate products and solutions.
- Promoting featured products, including the CORE Product of the Month.
- Responding to customer inquiries by phone, taking orders, and providing product information.
- Mixing and preparing paint orders to customer specifications.
- Preparing sales slips, quotes, delivery orders, and special orders.
- Researching product availability and sourcing special-order items when appropriate.
- Operating a cash register and processing customer payments.
- Maintaining awareness of sales floor activity and supporting daily sales goals.
- Stocking shelves, replenishing inventory, and organizing merchandise displays.
- Working with management and receiving staff to maintain overstock inventory areas.
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and well-merchandised sales area.
- Resolving customer concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
- Participating in required training programs and trade shows.
- Demonstrating teamwork, professionalism, and a positive attitude in all aspects of the job.
- Following all company policies, safety procedures, and work requirements.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Prior retail sales, paint, hardware, building materials, or customer service experience is a plus.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Basic computer and cash-handling skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
