Description
Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and customer-focused Stockroom Attendant to support inventory and material management operations at our customer site in Austin, TX. This role is responsible for maintaining daily stockroom operations, ensuring inventory accuracy, and providing excellent customer service in a professional office-style environment.
The ideal candidate has experience in inventory management, material handling, and customer-facing roles, along with strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel. Candidates must be comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory & Stockroom Operations
Receive, stock, and organize incoming materials.
Process outgoing shipments and material transactions.
Perform return-to-stock activities.
Fulfill crib requests and issue materials.
Support incoming receipts and general parts management.
Stage and pull non-moving inventory as required.
Cycle Counts & Inventory Accuracy
Perform daily cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy.
Reconcile physical inventory with system records.
Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
Organize stockroom locations and maintain accurate inventory records.
Escalate inventory variances according to established procedures.
Follow all standard operating procedures and inventory control guidelines.
Customer Service
Provide professional, front-facing customer support at the stockroom counter.
Build positive relationships with internal customers.
Communicate effectively with team members and site personnel.
Maintain a professional appearance and workplace demeanor.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 1 year of material handling or inventory management experience.
Minimum 1 year of customer-facing customer service experience.
Minimum 1 year of experience using Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Microsoft Teams, and data entry.
Excel proficiency is required and will be evaluated during the interview process.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous counter sales or stockroom experience within wholesale distribution.
Knowledge of the local Austin market is a plus.
Experience with retail or industrial supply companies such as Lowe's, Home Depot, O'Reilly Auto Parts, or similar environments is highly desirable.
