TERI's Country School is seeking a Program Specialist to provide direct educational and behavioral support to students with intellectual and developmental disabilities and complex support needs while helping strengthen the day-to-day operations of the school program.

This position combines hands-on student support, behavioral intervention, educational programming, staff guidance, and program coordination. You'll work closely with teachers, behavioral and clinical professionals, and other interdisciplinary team members to implement individualized education and behavior support plans while promoting student safety, independence, choice, and meaningful participation throughout the school day.

The Program Specialist also serves as a resource to the broader team by supporting staff training, maintaining program materials and documentation, reviewing data, coordinating activities, and helping ensure established procedures and program expectations are consistently followed.

Your Role & Responsibilities -

  • Implement individualized educational goals, Behavior Support Plans, and assigned interventions, providing direct behavioral and educational support while promoting student independence, choice, and active participation.
  • Collect, review, and maintain accurate behavioral, educational, medication, incident, and program data, supporting IEP development and ensuring required documentation is completed within established timelines.
  • Provide hands-on support with activities of daily living, personal care, health and safety needs, medication support, and other individualized needs based on each student's level of support.
  • Respond to severe, challenging, or unsafe behaviors using approved behavioral interventions and Behavior Emergency Safety Training (BEST) techniques while maintaining student dignity and safety.
  • Assist with the orientation, training, guidance, and ongoing support of staff and volunteers, modeling appropriate practices and reinforcing TERI policies, procedures, and program expectations.
  • Support daily program operations by coordinating activities, maintaining educational and behavioral resources, monitoring program supplies, and helping maintain a safe, structured, and organized learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers, behavioral and clinical professionals, families, and other interdisciplinary team members while participating in student reviews, staff meetings, training, and program initiatives.

Qualifications -

  • Current Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification required and must be maintained in good standing throughout employment.
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Experience implementing Behavior Support Plans, collecting behavioral data, maintaining documentation, and supporting individualized educational or developmental goals strongly preferred.
  • Experience in providing hands-on support to students with complex needs, including personal care and responding safely and professionally to severe or challenging behaviors.
