Hiring! We are seeking a County Coordinator to join our team. This
full-time position provides direct services to victims including crisis
counseling, advocacy, and support by delivering service that is
culturally competent, strength-based, and client directed with a special
emphasis and focus on the assigned county of service. In addition to
direct services to victims, the County Coordinator will provide
prevention education, community outreach, professional trainings, and
lead multidisciplinary team collaboration efforts focused on the issue
of sexual violence in their assigned county. Key Responsibilities Answer
crisis lines and provide crisis and support counseling, as well as
information and referral services. Provide advocacy and emotional
support to victims and their families, both on the crisis line and
face-to-face as requested by the client. Participate in community
collaborative meetings (including the assigned County's Coordinated
Community Response (CCR) team meetings). Provide training on sexual
violence to new community partners such as law enforcement, Probation &
Parole, Department of Health and Human Services staff, educators, etc.
Provide training of new staff and interns, as needed. Qualifications
Education: Required: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
Experience: Required: 0-2 years of experience working with sexual
assault survivors or similar experience. Preferred: 2 or more years
working with sexual assault survivors or similar experience. Skills and
Competencies: Strong interest in working with sexual assault victims.
Clarity of expression in presenting both written and verbal material.
Commitment to the ethical treatment of clients. Capacity to widen and
deepen experience and considerable ability to observe critical
differences and refine skills in practice. Ability to establish and
maintain relationships within and outside the agency in a professional
manner. Valid Wisconsin Driver's License with reliable personal vehicle
for transporting persons served, as needed. Maintain required auto

In collaboration with others, the mission of Family Service is to provide quality programs and services, which effectively assist and strengthen individuals and families in our community.
Family Service provides more than 5,000,000 meals each year through a USDA food program in 85 Nebraska counties. This program feeds almost 21,000 children in more than 1,312 licensed home child-care facilities.
Family Service delivers the Women, Infant and Children (WIC) program to 3,000 people in Lancaster County each month. Services include nutrition and breast feeding education as well as formula, milk and other staples.
Family Service cares for more than 1,700 children who take part in our child care and early childhood programs based in 20 Lincoln Public Schools.
Family Service counsels families and individuals with behavioral health sessions at 13 specific local schools.
Family Service partners with a variety of federal, state, local and non-profit agencies to make available a number of other innovative programs to assist Nebraska families.
Family Service Early Childhood and Youth Development programs granted over $694,000 in free and reduced rate scholarships to children during 2011-2012 school year.
