Lab Courier - Lorain Hospital

This is a PRN "As Needed" Position

Summary of Primary Function/General Purpose of Position

The Lab Courier picks up and delivers medical specimens and packages between medical providers and the diagnostic laboratory while ensuring timely, safe, and accurate delivery.

Essential Job Functions

  • Identifies necessary supplies needed for daily route pick-ups.
  • Completes daily pick up route in a timely manner.
  • Handles all specimens and lab samples in safe and efficient manner.
  • Safely operate company vehicle and obey all traffic laws.
  • Track pick-up samples with manifest lists.
  • Evaluates traffic patterns, alternative routes, and weather conditions as needed.
  • Requires knowledge of or ability to learn geographic area.
