Position Overview
Located at the Hall of Justice in Redwood City and branch facilities throughout San Mateo County, the Superior Court of California is seeking a dynamic, solutions-driven Courts Senior Information Technology Technician. This is a Tier-2/Tier-3 hands-on technical role bridging advanced endpoint engineering, enterprise systems administration, and white-glove customer support for judicial officers, courtroom staff, and court administration.
The ideal candidate operates like a modern systems administrator on the ground: highly proficient in Microsoft 365 administration, Windows enterprise deployment, active directory/identity management, and cloud collaboration, paired with an innate ownership mindset and exceptional customer service acumen under pressure.

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying.
Experience: To be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will have at least, three (3) years of progressive, hands-on experience in IT technical support, desktop engineering, or systems administration. Experience must demonstrate direct administration of Microsoft 365, Active Directory, enterprise endpoint management, and high-touch customer support. (An Associate or Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field may substitute for up to one year of experience).
Desirable Certifications: Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator / Endpoint Administrator (MD-102), Microsoft 365 Certified: Fundamentals (MS-900), CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent vendor credentials are strongly preferred.

This recruitment is Open & Promotional. County of San Mateo and Superior Court employees with at least six months of continuous service receive five (5) promotional preference points upon passing.
Depending on the number of applicants, an application appraisal of education and experience may be used in place of other examinations or further evaluation of work experience may be conducted to group applicants by level of qualification. All applicants who meet the minimum qualifications are not guaranteed advancement through any subsequent phase of the examination. All examinations will be given in County of San Mateo, California and applicants must participate at their own expense.
