Position: CPHS Health Professions Advisor

Position Summary:
The CPHS Health Professions Advisor serves as the primary academic advisor for all pre-pharmacy and pre-nursing students and is responsible for current student nurturing by effectively managing the associated pre-professional development activities for the College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences. The CPHS Health Professions Advisor provides comprehensive educational planning, academic guidance, and professional development advising to students pursuing pharmacy and nursing careers while working intentionally and strategically with campus partners and other key stakeholders to assist students pursuing career in health-related fields including physician assistant studies, physical therapy, public health, and other health professions co-curricular engagement. The CPHS Health Professions Advisor will serve as a central point of contact for assigned pre-pharmacy and pre-nursing students and operate under the direction of the CPHS Office of Student Affairs. The position exercises substantial discretion and independent judgment in matters of academic significance affecting student progression, retention, graduation, and professional school readiness.

Education/Experience:
Minimum of one year of professional experience in academic advising, student affairs, health professions advising, counseling, or related educational administration.
Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum planning, academic policies, student development theory, and health professions admissions processes.
Ability to interpret and apply complex regulations, policies, and academic requirements.
Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree from an accredited institution in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Counseling, Health Professions Education, Public Health, Biological Sciences, or related field.
Experience working in higher education health professions advising.
Experience administering student success, retention, or academic support programs.
Knowledge of admissions processes for multiple health professions disciplines.
Experience serving on admissions, progression, retention, or academic review committees.

Comprehensive computer skills and experience, with the ability to quickly learn technology platforms including Colleague, Blackboard, Student Planning and Slate.
Ethical advising practices - ability to exercise high level of confidentiality, independent initiative, and ethical judgement congruent with university and professional ideals.
Organizational skills - ability to maintain records and have ready access to resources necessary for successful completion of position duties.
Manage multiple, concurrent projects, and meet defined deadlines.
Ability to work occasional evening or weekend hours and occasional requirements for travel, including overnight stays.
Broad knowledge of Campbell University policies and procedures and FERPA guidelines.
