Responsibilities

  • Delivers classroom, field-based, and hands-on training for entry-level laborers in heavy highway and civil construction environments
  • Coordinates training logistics including schedules, materials, instructors, and training environments
  • Reinforces OSHA standards, safety requirements, and company safety policies
  • Supports onboarding programs, DOT compliance, and workforce reporting requirements
  • Tracks, maintains, and audits training records, certifications, career progression, and compliance documentation using LMS, spreadsheets, or project reporting tools
  • Prepares and submits workforce development reports to state DOT agencies and internal stakeholders
  • Ensures compliance with DOT contract training provisions, DBE/workforce participation goals, and apprenticeship readiness requirements
  • Collaborates with subject matter experts to design training curricula, including measurement and evaluation criteria • Assists in developing structured career pathways for entry-level laborers
  • Conducts jobsite visits to observe, evaluate, and certify trainees and reinforce learning
  • Partners with superintendents, foremen, and project managers to assess trainee progress and workforce readiness
  • Provides coaching and mentorship to improve performance, retention, and safety behaviors

Requirements

Education: High School Diploma or GED

3+ years of experience in heavy civil infrastructure
