Description


Our industrial team is growing and we are seeking an experienced Crane Operator for an immediate need on a project in the Walnut Cove, NC area, as well as future projects in other locations.

The Crane Operator is responsible for operating a Lattice Boom Crawler mobile crane to lift, move, position, and reposition loads. The Operator controls crane functions by depressing buttons and foot pedals as well as manipulating levers. The Operator will be required to unload crane accessories from trailers or support vehicles. The Operator receives direction from riggers and/or site supervision via verbal or hand signals to determine required load movement. The Operator will be required to perform pre- and post-trip inspections along with daily and monthly equipment inspections. Operators also follow appropriate safety procedures and maintain logs of vehicle repair status and working hours.  The Operator typically works under direct supervision and is expected to work long hours with frequent sitting, standing, moving, and climbing. The Operator is subject to possible exposure to extreme year-round outdoor environmental conditions and may also be subject to working weekends and holidays.


Key Responsibilities


  • Operate various types of cranes: Rough Terrain, Lattice Boom Crawlers, Hydraulic Crawlers, Carry Deck and Boom Trucks.
  • Drive and set the crane up properly per the manufacturer’s manual in the required location.
  • Verify the radius on lift plans prior to picking components.
  • Confirm rigging is attached as detailed in the lift plan.
  • Properly barricade counterweight tail swing radius.
  • Perform proper crane movements as directed by riggers through voice or hand controls.
  • Inspect the crane daily for safety and environmental issues and perform routine maintenance to the machine.
  • Climb, Stand, lift or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Possess and implement Morgan Corp’s social contract.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise


  • NCCCO or equivalent crane operator certification.
  • A proven track record of operating cranes safely and efficiently in industrial or heavy civil construction settings
  • Are knowledgeable in load charts, rigging techniques, lift planning, and job site safety protocols.
  • Can read and interpret lift plans, blueprints, and other technical documents.
  • Communicate clearly with ground personnel, riggers, and supervisors using radio or hand signals
  • Take pride in maintaining equipment and performing basic inspections and pre-operation checks.
  • Stay calm and focused in high-pressure environments and can adapt to changing site conditions.
